Dive into the AQUATIC RESOURCE CENTER of Put-in-bay, Lake Erie
Located on the site of the former Ohio State Fish Hatchery, this aquarium and education facility is a treat for kids of all ages and anyone curious about the creatures lurking beneath the surface of the water. The Aquatic Resource Center is focused on preserving the ecosystem of Put-in-Bay / Lake Erie, with six aquariums between 400 and 800 gallons each, hands-on activities, weekend children’s programs, microscopes, and historic hatchery equipment. Best of all, admission is FREE!

What sort of Tours are offered?
Tours of the Aquatic Resource Center and historic hatchery facilities are available for $2 during the off-season. Call (419) 285-1800 for information about scheduling.
Are there children’s activities?
Of course! The Aquatic Center is all about kids! In addition to the hands-on exhibits, microscopes, and aquarium, every Saturday at 2pm there’s a program designed specifically for children. The topics vary by week, with past programs such as “Animals of the Lake Erie Watershed,” “Our Friend the Spider,” and “Underwater Exploration.” Kids under 16 can also fish for free off the pier!
